It merges Ethernet-based Storage Area Networks (IP-SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) on a single storage platform. The new Auto Provisioning Feature is a great improvement over Thin Provisioning which allows administrators to apply Auto Provisioning to NAS volumes to automatically grow to the size needed. The StorTrends 2400 line also offers solid "green" credentials, with variable speed fans that offer low heat dissipation and BTU output and very efficient power consumption. AMI’s patented, lighting-fast ROW snapshot technology means that snapshots are written to disk in a matter of milliseconds – with no performance loss no matter how many snapshots are taken.
